Nikki Allan murder inquiry: Man remains under investigation as inquiries continue

The man – whose details have not been made public – was questioned on suspicion of murdering the youngster.

Today, A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “One man remains under investigation in relation to this investigation and enquiries are ongoing.”
A new team was set up to investigate Nikki’s brutal death in April 2017, and on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy, they announced they had been successful in recovering new DNA from an unknown male.
As part of a fresh appeal, they asked any men who may have been in contact with Nikki or in the area of the crime scene to come forward.
