Black plumes of smoke over Sunderland as firefighters called to beach fire
Firefighters were called out to tackle a beach fire after tyres were set alight.
One Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue crew was called to the promenade are of Hendon Beach, in Sunderland, after the alarm was raised on Saturday, February 27, at 1.16pm.
Black plumes of smoke could be seen in the sky on a bright day with the blaze eventually put out by 1.58pm.
