Colebrook Bosson Saunders will explore how research can strengthen collaboration between workplace stakeholders and improve design outcomes during a webinar taking place on December 2.

Workplace ergonomics specialist Colebrook Bosson Saunders (CBS) is set to examine the role of research in shaping more effective workplace environments during an upcoming webinar.

The session, titled ‘Building relationships through research: Research debt, shared curiosity, and what projects actually need’, will take place on December 2 and forms part of the company's Workplace Insight Series.

As organisations continue to balance office, hybrid, and remote working models, the webinar will explore how research can help workplace teams better understand the relationship between people, technology and the environments in which they work.

Led by researcher, anthropologist and environmental psychologist B Sanborn, the session will focus on the concept of "research debt" - the consequences of research that overlooks stakeholder perspectives or fails to inform project decisions.

Drawing on experience across workplace, healthcare and education settings, Sanborn will discuss practical approaches to reducing research debt, including the use of interviews, workshops, surveys and observation techniques to improve collaboration between clients, designers and occupants.

Steven Souter, insight programme ,manager at Colebrook Bosson Saunders, said: "Effective workplace ergonomics starts with understanding how people work, what they need and where they encounter difficulties. Research helps turn those experiences into informed design decisions.

“Through the CBS Workplace Insight Series, we bring together specialist perspectives to help workplace teams connect ergonomics, technology and wellbeing, creating environments that better support the people who use them."

The CBS Workplace Insight Series explores workplace ergonomics through discussions on technology, leadership, inclusion and the physical environment.

Previous webinars have covered topics including digital fatigue, leadership, workplace acoustics and neuroinclusive design, with the latest session continuing the series' focus on human-centred workplace design.

The webinar will take place on December 2, with registration available via Eventbrite.
