and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The site is located on a parcel of land formerly used as a practice area for the adjacent golf course within the grounds of George Washington Hotel and Golf Club. The development will deliver three- and four-bedroom homes, perfect for families and downsizers.
As part of the planning agreement with Sunderland City Council, Taylor Wimpey is investing over £460,000 in the local community under the Section 106 agreement. This includes over £280,000 towards education and over £145,000 towards improving highways and off-site habitat enhancement.

Hide AdMark Fletcher, Land and Planning Director at Taylor Wimpey North East, said: “We are so pleased to have started the construction of our Alder Park development in Washington. The development will not only provide residents from around Sunderland with a great selection of homes, but it will also offer the chance to live on an exclusive development of only 49 homes and be surrounded by the existing mature woodland.
“As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes by making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in.”
