Online shopping has got a whole lot easier thanks to new parcel locker facility in Sunderland

Online Sunderland shoppers and sellers can now trade and buy items safely and securely thanks to the arrival in the city of a brand-new parcel locker unit.

Evri Group, one of the UK’s premier parcel delivery companies, has unveiled the new facility at Morrisons Petrol Forecourt in Doxford Park.

The 24/7 lockers “gives people more choice in how and where to send and receive parcels, at a time that suits them, whether they’re dropping off a return during the morning commute or collecting an important gift late at night”.

Customers can currently order directly to a locker through many of the UK’s top retailers, or divert out-for-delivery parcels to a nearby locker if they’re going to be out when they’re expecting a delivery.

The installation forms part of Evri’s expanding locker network and supports its long-term plan to double the number of parcel shops and lockers by 2030, designed to offer more choice to consumers alongside typical home delivery options.

A host of these new lockers will feature unique local messages, designed to reflect the individuality and pride of the communities, with Sunderland’s new facility featuring the message ‘Ha’way Sunderland’.

Locker deliveries can reduce missed deliveries and provide a safer option for customers who don’t have a suitable safe place at home.
