‘A fitting and comforting place to visit their loved ones much closer to home’

An award-winning Sunderland funeral director has expanded into the north of the city.

John G Hogg Funeral Directors has opened its fourth Sunderland branch which is at Sea Road Shops, Sea Road, Fulwell.

And that means even more of a Wearside presence for the funeral directors which has supported families in the Sunderland area for 35 years.

The new funeral home, which opened at the start of September, joins John G Hogg’s other established branches in the city and they are in Pallion, Hendon and Farringdon.

The new Sea Road premises includes a comfortable chapel of rest, giving families a peaceful and welcoming place to spend time with their loved ones without having to travel further across the city.

The branch will be led by Business Principal John Hogg Snr, who has been involved in the funeral business for all of his working life.

John said: “Having supported families in and around Sunderland for 35 years, we know how important it is for people to have somewhere local where they feel comfortable and cared for at what can be an incredibly difficult time.”

He added: “We already serve many families who live north of the river, so opening in Fulwell means they now have a fitting and comforting place to visit their loved ones much closer to home.

“We are very proud to bring the same high-quality premises, personal service and care that families know from John G Hogg to Sea Road and look forward to becoming part of the local community.”
