Lindsey Webb, the owner of Willow & Fox Designs, has created the unique Christmas cards after Boris Johnson set out his winter strategy for combating Covid.

During the press conference, Mr Johnson claimed that “tis the season to be jolly, but it is also the season to be jolly careful” and it was this that inspired Lindsey put the message on cards within hours.

The 39-year-old said: “After watching his speech last night that’s basically the reason why I made them for a little light-hearted fun in these crazy times we are living in at the minute.

“I have to say I’m looking forward to a jolly careful Christmas and fingers crossed we get to spend it with our families.”

Lindsey sells her handcrafted gifts and cards online and she has told the Echo about how well received the latest products have been.

The mum from Washington added: “People have loved them and seen the funny side to them. If it gives people a little chuckle at this time then it’s all good.”

It is understood there will be a “time-limited” break from the coronavirus restrictions during the festive period, with reports claiming it will begin on December 22.

The Prime Minister has also stated that “Christmas cannot be normal” this year and warned that families must make a “careful judgement” over visiting elderly relatives.

You can buy the cards by visiting Lindsey’s Etsy shop here – they are priced at £1 each or six for £5.
