Prolific striker Eoin Doyle has joined Bolton Wanderers on a three-year contract, amid claims Sunderland had enquired about his availability.

The in-demand 32-year-old free agent scored 25 goals in 28 games for Swindon Town last season and Doyle opted to stay at that level.

The Bolton News claim Doyle had offers from a host of League Two clubs including Swindon plus others from Salford City and Mansfield Town, while they claim ‘Sunderland are understood to have asked about the striker’s availability.’
