Ex-Sunderland defender training with Bolton Wanderers after Southend exit

The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Sunderland last summer and had been training with Southend.

However, the Southend Echo report Lynch has now moved on to Bolton in a bid to win a contract.

Clubs can sign free agents outside the transfer windows.

Lynch was released last summer as part of an overhaul of the Sunderland squad.
