Durham Sunday League: McManus the hero as Sherburn sign off in style
Sherburn Village WMC ended the Swinburne Maddison Durham Sunday League season on a high.
They edged home 3-2 in a thrilling Stonebridge Inn League Cup final against Premier Division rivals Chilton WMC.
Craig McManus led the way with a match-winning brace for Sherburn, with Nick Marley also on target for the fourth-top Premier finishers. James Ellis was man of the match.
Chilton, who had Steven Clough sent off, relied on Nicky Pickford and Byron Brown for their goals, while Curt Pickford was their top performer.
