The scale replicas have been produced to celebrate the third anniversary of the Durham Cathedral in Lego model.

Durham Cathedral will host its own miniature Miners’ Gala after the Miners’ Festival Service at around 4pm, at which the specially-made banners, handcrafted by the Cathedral Broderers, will be blessed.

A mini brass band has also been made by dedicated Lego volunteers Les Hancock, who designed the band members and their instruments, and Judy Blackett, who has made tiny band uniforms for each figure to wear.

Further banners will be added to the scale model in the future and members of the public and community groups have the opportunity to sponsor two Lego mini-figures and a banner for £100; or a banner, two mini-figures and four band members for £200.
