Award-winning domestic roofing firm covers Sunderland, Washington and entire North East
Two cousins who went out on their own in business six years ago have doubled their turnover, tripled their workforce and moved into much larger new premises, to keep up with the demand from hundreds of satisfied customers in the North East. At its heart Trustmark Roofing & Building is a family run firm, with many of the senior management related to one another, and working as a team.
Chris Dodds and Robert Findley run Trustmark Roofing & Building and have grown the firm with its roots firmly in the local area into one of the most respected in the north of England. Reviewers give them consistently high marks, and they’ve caught the eye of judges at a number of ceremonies.
Despite their success – or perhaps part of the reason for it – is their commitment to both customers and the local community.
“We offer a 24 hour emergency service for customers,” says Chris, “and we are very proud that we are based in Washington serving all of the North East. We try our best to constantly deliver high standards, great workmanship as well as doing what we can for the local community”.
The company primarily does domestic roofing work, with a motto of “repair, restore, renew”. They will work within a client’s budget to repair where possible, improve where needed and completely replace if required. Finance options are also available. This can include simple storm-damage repairs to entire re-roofing with associated building work, and everything in between.
While they are available round the clock for life’s emergencies, by growing their workforce to 35 ensuring they can take on most planned jobs within four to six weeks.
Community commitment
Both local lads, they are determined to give something back. Chris added: “We’re nothing special, we grew up on council estates, but we are doing well for ourselves right now, and want to give something back.”
That means there’s a permanent discount for pensioners, NHS staff and the armed forces, and they support local kids’ football teams, boxing clubs and pool teams. Charity work has included supporting Sam Fender’s charity ‘Support and Grow’ which supports those affected by poverty and social disadvantage. Chris and Rob were so moved by the number of applications for a festive hamper last Christmas, that they upped their donation from 2 luxury Christmas hampers for local families to 15.
