What you can see when Cineworld in Boldon and Dalton Park re-open on Wednesday, May 19

Cineworld in both Boldon and Dalton Park in Murton will be showing films again for the first time in months from Wednesday, May 19.

From Monday, May 17, indoor events in England can be held with Covid rules in place, with 50% capacity, up to 1,000 people.

Social distancing and signage will be in place in cinemas, as will hand sanitisers and extra cleaning will be carried out. Screening times will be staggered.

All cinema goers are required to wear a face covering unless they are eating and drinking, or are exempt. Cineworld also ask that purchases made inside their venues be made using the contactless method.

The big family film being released this week is Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway which has a U certificate and features the voices of James Corden and Margot Robbie.

The film has its first showing at both cinemas at 2.10pm on Wednesday. It will have eight screenings throughout the day at Boldon and four at Murton. Last showing at Boldon is 7.20pm and 7.40pm at Murton.

Also showing from Wednesday at both venues are Godzilla Vs King Kong (12A), My New York Year (15), Spiral: From the Book of Saw (18), The Unholy (15), Those Who Wish Me Dead (15) and Tom & Jerry: The Movie (PG).

Showing at Boldon only are Mortal Kombat (15), Judas and the Black Messiah (15) and Radhe: The Most Wanted Bhai (15).

Bookings can be made online from now. Customers are encouraged to book in advance via the Cineworld website or app. Confirmation emails can be used as tickets and e-tickets are available on the app.

A Cineworld statement said: "We are excited to announce that our cinemas in England and Scotland will re-open on May 19! We will announce the re-opening of our remaining cinemas in due course.
