It is thought that the 17th century mansion in West Yorkshire is haunted by a grey lady who is believed to be the wife of a former Lord of the Manor. This spirit is seen frequently wandering the corridors as if she is searching for someone or something. 2. Nancy of Nostell Priory, Wakefield

There is a condemned cell in B Wing of the Strangeways Prison. A phantom wearing a dark suit and briefcase has been reported by staff to walk its corridors. 4. The Ghost of the Sunderland Empire Theatre, Sunderland
The theatre is plagued by an eerie cackling attributed to the ghost of Carry On legend, Sid James, who suffered a fatal heart attack on stage at the venue in 1976.
