We’ve rounded up some fun things to do in Sunderland, from a K Pop party to animal petting.
9. WWT Washington Wetland Centre
There's a whole host fun at WWT Washington including daily dragonfly safaris, giant outdoor games, water play and more. There's also pond dipping sessions, moth mornings and more. Check on the WWT website for more. | Sunderland Echo

10. Blandford Street Party
This year, Blandford Street will be transformed into a remade and reloved outdoor street party on August 8 from 10am to 3pm. It's a vibrant, family-friendly day celebrating: sustainability, creativity, practical skills and community connections. This isn’t a market or a large-scale festival, it’s a day where the street becomes a space to swap, learn, create, repair, play, and connect. Free to attend. | Sunderland Echo

11. Girly Pop Festival, Keel Square
GirlyPop Live is coming to Keel Square, with your favourite Pop icons in one live show brought to you by a host of tribute acts. It takes place from 12pm to 4.30pm on August 23. Tickets are from £20. | Sunderland city council

12. Kids Fest, Stack Seaburn
