Status Quo, Jason Donovan and more announced for Sunderland music festival

It's been announced that Status Quo, Marc Almond, Jason Donovan, Chesney Hawkes and more will perform at Let's Rock the North East next summer.

The large-scale festival, which attracted 15,000 in its inaugural North East show this summer, will return to Herrington Country Park on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

The family-friendly event, which runs across the country, celebrates the best of ‘80s music.

A spokeswoman said: “Let’s Rock the North East was added to the widely successful and incredibly popular series of retro festivals in 2018, celebrating all things pop and 80s. What a day that was with a sell-out crowd. An amazing day was had by all and we cannot wait to be back for 2019.”

Gates on the day will open at 10am, with music from midday. The show ends at 10.30pm.

Children can enjoy complimentary activities within the Kids’ Kingdom area with an interactive circus, face painting, inflatables and more and children aged 12 and under have free entry.
