After months of anticipation, Big Weekend is here.
21 years after Radio 1’s flagship festival last came to Herrington Country Park, it’s back with 100 acts across three stages and three days of live music set to be attended by 100,000 people.
On the eve of the festival, we were given an exclusive first look at the site to see what we can expect.

5. Drinks prices
There's bars across the festival site, as well as a dedicated craft ale bar selling locally-brewed drinks, like a festival special from Vaux. Among the prices at the main bars are: £7.25 for a pint of Madrí Excepcional, £7.25 for a pint of Carling Black Fruits Cider and £7.50 for a pint of Alpacalypse IPA. Wine is £8.50 for a 187ml glass and £32 for 750ml. Cocktails are all £10.25 and mocktails are £5.75. Cans of pre-mixed drinks, like G&T, are priced from £8.75 to £8.95. Soft drinks are priced from £2.80. | Sunderland Echo

6. Safety and welfare
There's a number of safety and welfare measures in place, including wristbands for children, welfare teams and security in place. Ask for Angela is also in operation - just say the phrase to a member of staff if you need discreet assistance. | Sunderland Echo
