More than a million twinkling lights and seasonal sounds will fill the air with festive fun for the return of Christmas At Gibside.

The after-dark trail, with new installations for 2022, will again transform the National Trust's 18th-century landscaped Georgian gardens near Gateshead into a winter wonderland, on selected nights from December 1, 2022, to January 1, 2023.

A timed entry system is in place and with popular weekend and early evening time slots set to sell out fast, organisers are urging festive fun-seekers to buy their tickets now.

Following a successful debut last year, tickets are now on sale for the return of this unmissable outdoor trail which will feature enchanting illuminations choreographed to a festive soundtrack.

Spend time together and create everlasting memories as you take in the dazzling trail, which is designed for all ages to enjoy and is accessible to everyone,.

Christmas at Gibside provides a special way to celebrate the festive season. Expect plenty of selfie moments.

A pea-lit tree wrapped in a thousand lights and a gentle snowflake walk are amongst the many curated light installations that will wow and woo visitors of all ages.

Discover sparkling tunnels of light, walk under giant baubles and beneath glistening trees, drenched in jewel-like colour.

For a moment of reflection pause at mesmerising flickering flames in the fire garden, gaze at the larger-than-life illuminations and, to make a moment to remember, don't forget to get a glimpse of Father Christmas along the way.

Independent street food vendors bring a delicious twist with tasty treats on offer. Complete your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with friends and family.

Everyone loves toasting a marshmallow over an open fire and the artisan marshmallow stall gives visitors the chance to warm their hands and enjoy this sweet outdoor tradition.

Extra charges apply for food and drinks on the trail.

One of 15 outdoor illuminated trails staged across the UK by Raymond Gubbay Limited, a division of Sony Music, it is presented in partnership with the National Trust and the trail is created by Culture Creative.

National Trust members receive free car parking for Christmas at Gibside. You must select this at the time of booking and member parking will be validated on the evening of your visit by checking your membership card.

Non-members are advised to book their parking when purchasing tickets to guarantee a space.
