After receiving support on their previous releases from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and It’s All Indie, the band is hoping new track, The Idea of Having a Boyfriend, will be equally well received.

Made up of Jasper Watson on bass/vocals, Ben Goodfellow on guitar/vocals and Jamie Martin on drums, the alt rock/pop band have been gaining attention on the live scene, working with nationally-acclaimed promoter Scruff of The Neck to play full capacity shows across the North East in venues such as Think Tank in Newcastle and Independent in Sunderland.

The trio have been friends for more than 15 years after meeting in the reception class at Fulwell Infants School. Over the years, they realised they had a shared passion for music and cemented their friendship further by starting a band when they were in Year 6.

Now all in their early 20s, they’ve racked up thousands and thousands of streams on Spotify with their previous releases.

Although the live music scene has been dealt a huge blow in 2020 due to the pandemic, the band already has live shows planned in 2021 in Teesside, Sunderland and further afield.

Following on from 2020’s earlier singles, Different Kids, and Want to Believe, the new track, The Idea of Having a Boyfriend, is set to help build their fan base.

Drummer Jamie said: “This is a song that does what is says on the tin. ‘The idea of having a boyfriend’ explores the feelings of people who simply just like having a partner rather than liking the person themselves.”

He goes on to describe the fact that the song doesn’t take itself seriously, saying: “it’s simply a text message from a conversation turned in to a catchy hook.”

The Idea of Having a Boyfriend will be released on all digital platforms on Monday, December 14, accompanied by a live streamed gig on the Monday evening from 8pm.

Tickets for the live stream show are on sale now from Skiddle, priced £6.
