How a music producer is offering a North East link to the 2026 Grammy Awards
Some of the biggest names in the music world are heading to the Grammy Awards this weekend.
While the top awards will go to some of the biggest artists in the world, a North East song may help a Canadian producer pick up a coveted award.
Away from the top awards with the likes of Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift nominated, a total of 96 trophies will be handed out.

While no big name North East acts have been announced, one of the key names behind a well loved track from a local star may see success.
Canadian music producer Cirkut has made the list of nominees for the Producer of The Year, Non Classical Award.
In addition to being one of the key names behind Abracadabra by Lady Gaga and APT by Rose and Bruno Mars, he also produced ‘It Girl’ by Jade.
The track was a single as part of the promotional rollout from the former Little Mix star’s debut solo album ‘That’s Showbiz Baby’, which debuted at number three in the UK albums chart last year.
It was also the biggest opening week for a debut album in 2025 in the UK.
Cirkut also has production credits for songs by The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran within the Grammys nomonation window.
He was also one fo the key names behind Unholy by Sam Smith and Girls Like You by Maroon Five.
The Grammy Award Ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 1 in the USA, meaning it will run throughout the early hours of Monday morning in the UK.
