The acts are the latest to be announced for the Gosforth Park venue, which has already played host to Sam Fender, Two Door Cinema Club, the Bootleg Beatles, Adam Kay, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac and Supergrass.
Others still set to play include Maximo Park, Tom Grennan, Alfie Boe, Ronan Keating, a set by Craig Charles and a double show by The Libertines, with a run of Bongo’s Bingo sessions and comedy sets by Bill Bailey, Jimmy Carr and Jason Manford also lined up.
Folk-punk hero Frank Turner will return to Tyneside on Monday, September 7.
On Friday, September 18, the British-Italian artist Jack Savoretti will head to Virgin Money Unity Arena followed by the much-loved musical duo that is Lighthouse Family on Saturday, September 19.
Festival organiser Steve Davis, said: “We are delighted to add further shows to what has been an amazing and uplifting project for the North East’s Music Industry.
"The new additions add further quality to what is already an amazing line-up of talent.
“It’s amazing to see show after show customers are complying with the guidelines and enjoying this safe outdoor arena.
"We hope to return to normal as soon as possible but for now, we offer the best alternative in the world to a live gig experience.”
Earlier this summer, Virgin Money launched its Emerging Stars programme to support and promote Britain’s new music artists.
