Snooker legend Tornado Tony Drago to play Hartlepool exhibition

ONE of snooker’s fastest-ever players is in Hartlepool this evening for an exhibition night.

Tony Drago, the player known as “The Tornado”, will play at South Durham Social Club on Westbourne Road. (start 7.30pm).

The 49-year-old will play 10 frames against local players and is sure to excite snooker fans with his quickfire play.

Entry to the event is completely free, but the night is men only, and no under 18s can be admitted.

There are also a limited number of meet and greet tickets, which also include a buffet at the interval, and these can be purchased direct from the club at a cost of £5 each.

There will also be a chance to buy raffle tickets on the night to play Tony, and to bid for a frame in an auction at the end of the night.

Promoter John Hartley said: “Tony is still a major attraction and it’s great to have him playing in Hartlepool. He is still as fast as ever.”
