Thorney thrash Queen Vic as Agnew smashes seven

Thorney Close went goal crazy against the usually defensive Queen Vic side, the game finished 12-4 in Thorney’s favour.

Perry Agnew had arguably the best game of his career as he smashed in a superb seven goals, Connor Gales hammered home a hat-trick then Pattison and Stewart added strikes to wrap up a convincing win.

The Queen Vic didn’t bow down and still managed to score four goals from Stavers, Muir (2) and Dickens.

Redhouse FC blew the league running wide open after hammering promotion candidates South Hylton 7-1.

New signing Stan Ogunsuyi opened his account in style for Redhouse scoring a hat-trick then Ryan Hodgson added another two goals.

Cahill-Taylor pulled a goal back for South Hylton but O’Neill and Southern scored to finish off the encounter.

Jolly Potters’ fine form continues, and they move into second place in the league after their hard-fought 4-3 win over Washington FC.

Alex Ferguson hit three for the Potters and Whelan hit their fourth.

Washington had Stephenson score his usual goal then Arthurs and Sinclair scored to keep them interested but Potters held on for the win.

Ryhope CW are still in search for their first league in the first division, they were beaten by Herrington after Morrison Dobinson and Herron all scored to see them move up the table.

Gav Nesbitt hit his team’s only goal.

Cheers FC are finally showing their worth in the league after they found form to put The Avenue to the sword.

Andy Place had got his shooting boots back on as he scored four then star man Kevin Humble claimed a hat-trick.

The Avenue had Alex Smith and Jonny Carr fired past Hedgley in the Cheers goal but Jamie Dodds scored another two to put the game out of sight.

Ryhope recorded back to back wins after beating Wearmouth 3-0.

The away side are still searching for their first league win but it was Ryhope’s day after Middlebrook, Stead and Gleghorn scored for the win.

In the Second Division Oddies were hoping to continue their run after their first win the previous week but Myers burst their bubble with a 6-1 win.

Neil McNulty bagged a hat-trick on his return to the starting 11 and Harrison Smith hit his usual double and Kirk Hardy hit the sixth.

Oddies replied with a sublime goal from debutant Alex Langley who found the net with a great 25 yard effort.

Townend are still at the top of the second division but were made to work for their win by basement boys The Board Inn.

Trotter notched a double along with Kirtley and Pearson firing past stand in keeper Monson but Townend’s class shone through after Corey Bell scored then Marc Moon hit two and Kieran Stokoe also found the net twice, one being a glorious effort good enough to win any game.

Washington New Tavern moved into third spot in the league after their 3-1 win over the Lakeside, Dan Thompson, Hinde and McIntyre scored the decisive goals and Crossland hit his usual effort for the Lakers.

Hendon FC got back to winning ways after upending Wear United 5-1.

Local legend Steven Stewart started the scoring with a superb overhead-kick and worthy of winning any game, but United soon pegged them back with a dubious penalty which was put away in style by Sproat.

It was then all Hendon and the youthful Imeson and Galdi ran United defence ragged, Imeson soon claimed his hattrick the Galdi once again added his name on the scoresheet to seal the win.

In the Third Division The Grange scored an emphatic win over the struggling Millview side who now hover over the danager zone.

Barrass fired in four, Mather added two and Perry scored to give them a 7-3 win and Millview had Forster score two and Hardy score.

River Bar scored an early goal thanks to Chris Lund but Washington North End quickly overturned this and ran out 5-1 winners.

Baker, Francis, Scott, Hourigan and Mitchinson won it for North End.

Fairweather and Fagan scored in each half to give The Doxy lad another win in the league, Broadway had Jones score.

A last minute goal from The Victory Clubs Callum Head gave them an important three points after beating Witherwack 3-2.

Lavendar scored two earlier for the Club. Witherwack had McQuillan and Croucher reply.

Stella United remain unbeaten with their latest 5-0 win over Sunderland North and the still sit pretty at the top of the league.

Charlie Hood hit two goals and Cains, Crawford and Ben Graham were also on target for United.

In the Fourth Division Park View were the latest team to embarrass Washington Blue Bell on their own turf with a one-sided 13-0 win.

Goals came from Scott Stevenson (4), Hooper (3), Maven (2), Todd, Rowntree, Di Castro and Brannen done the damage.

Belmont keep their winning streak intact with a close victory over The Jolly Steward Raiders.

Craig Stamp scored two goals for the Raiders and Munchley added another, but Belmont are a side in form and Hellens replied with a double then Carr and Cook won it for the home side.
