The early Wolves and Sunderland team and injury news with two doubts and four ruled out

Sunderland are back in Premier League action when they travel to face Wolves on Saturday

Sunderland are looking to get back to winning ways when they face Wolves at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.

Both Régis Le Bris and Rob Edwards have some key injury concerns ahead of the game - here's the early team news from both camps...

The early Sunderland team news

Sunderland look likely to name an unchanged squad this weekend as three of their wide players step up their recovery.

Jocelin Ta Bi is the closest to making his comeback, and could yet make the squad if he progresses well this week. It had at one stage looked as if the winger would miss the rest of the campaign with an ankle issue, but he was back on the grass last week and will hope to move towards full training in the coming days. If he does, he could be in contention for this weekend but at this early stage Manchester United's visit to the Stadium of Light looks the most likely target.

Bertrand Traoré and Nilson Angulo both hope to begin part training this week, with a return as soon as Saturday thought unlikely at this stage. Both should return to play a part in the final few fixtures of the campaign, however.

"Nilson and Berto are close to returning for part training next week, so probably [they can do] a bit with the squad," Régis Le Bris said last Thursday.

"Jocelin started the sessions with us this week, so we might go further next week because he felt good, which is good news, and nothing else to flag.

Romaine Mundle remains sidelined following hamstring surgery, and is not expected to feature again this season.

The early Wolves team news

The hosts will be boosted by the return of defender Yerson Mosquera from suspension. The centre back picked up his 10th yellow card of the campaign during the 4-0 loss to West Ham United earlier this month and missed the defeats to Leeds United and Spurs as a result. A regular in the XI for the majority of the campaign, it would be a surprise if he did not come straight back into the starting XI on Saturday.

It remains to be seen whether fellow centre back Ladislav Krejčí will be fit to join him in the XI, having missed the defeat to Spurs with a neck issue. Rob Edwards said ahead of that game that the issue wasn't serious but at this stage he remains a doubt: "It’s his neck.

"It was a bit sore [before Leeds defeat] and when he got pushed it made it even worse. He’s been able to do some individual work, some straight line stuff, but it’s still very sore in his neck area. I can’t put a timeframe on it, but we want to get him back as quickly as we can.”

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is set to miss the rest of the campaign with an injury, meaning Jose Sa is likely to be between the sticks on Saturday having recovered from a minor injury of his own in time to face Spurs on Saturday.
