Will Grigg scores again as Sunderland striker continues to impress for MK Dons - despite Shrewsbury Town defeat

The striker has been in impressive form since his deadline day exit from the Stadium of Light, which saw him join the Dons on loan for the remainder of the season.

And having netted his first goal in 16 months at the weekend, Grigg netted for the second game on the bounce as MK Dons fell to defeat at Shrewsbury Town.

His goal – which came with his temporary side already 3-0 down – came towards the end of the first half after he was found in space by Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird.

Shrewsbury won the game 4-2, with Grigg playing 58 minutes.

Speaking earlier this week, the striker explained how he feels ‘at home’ in Milton Keynes.

"From the moment I got here, I felt at home," he said, speaking to the Milton Keynes Citizen.

"Everyone has been great with me, the staff and the boys are brilliant. Every day I come into training, or some to the stadium, it's a special place for me.

"I always pride myself on scoring goals, and it's nice to be back and doing what I did before I left. The gaffer and Luke have been great with me, we play a different style and I think I've adapted to that, I'm enjoying every minute."

Meanwhile, George Dobson played the full 90 minutes as AFC Wimbleon sealed an impressive win over Gillingham.

Jack Rudoni’s late strike was enough for the Plough Lane outfit to claim victory on home soil – meaning new manager Mark Robinson has now won two of his first three games in permanent charge of the club.

Elsewhere, Elliot Embleton was unable to build upon a promising Blackpool cameo against Doncaster.

Embleton had impressed off the bench in Pool’s win at Portsmouth on Saturday and laid on the only goal of the game for Jerry Yates and could have been in-line for a start against Rovers – until the game was postponed an hour before kick-off after heavy rainfall.
