Herrington-born Henderson was supposed to visit lifelong Reds fan David Kerruish, but the current climate put paid to those plans.

But that wasn’t deterring the former Sunderland man, who instead arranged a video call with Kerruish – who endured a tough end to 2019.

The Liverpool supporter lost both of his parents within a five-week spell, with wife Angela and sister Christiane subsequently reaching out to Henderson.

And not only did the former Black Cat speak with Kerruish and his family over a video call – which has been watched by over 250,000 people – he also invited them to Liverpool’s training centre to meet the first-team squad once social distancing guidelines have been lifted – and provided him with a pair of season tickets.
