Around 10,000 supporters will attend today’s play-off semi-final clash with Lincoln City, aiming to play their part as the Black Cats look to recover from a 2-0 defeat in the first leg.
Fans have not been permitted to attend games on Wearside since March 2020, with Sunderland fans having been absent from the Stadium of Light since the 2-2 draw with Gillingham.

While they may not be sat in their usual seats, and the match day experience is a vastly different one to normal with social distancing measures in place, the delight at returning to the ground was clear in the faces of many.
