The Black Cats have made three changes from the side that lost at Wigan, with Aiden O’Brien, Grant Leadbitter and Callum McFadzean starting.

Chris Maguire meanwhile, is back in the squad as he takes a place on the bench – but there was no place for under-23 centre back Oliver Younger, who had travelled with the squad.

And his return, as well as Johnson’s other calls, had plenty of fans talking on social media.
