League One clubs are yet to decide on a definitive direction of travel, but will meet this morning [Monday] to thrash out plans.

EFL chairman Rick Parry is understood to have spent most of the weekend canvassing opinion, with clubs split over whether to play the campaign to a conclusion or to curtail all fixtures now.

Sunderland remain committed to completing the season, but are open to compromise – such as the eight-team play-off tournament that was mooted last week.

Peterborough, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Oxford and Fleetwood are also committed to completing the current campaign.

And according to The Telegraph, all teams could have the chance to have their say on Tuesday, May 19.

They claim that the EFL are planning to hold an indicative vote among all League One clubs on this date, allowing the third tier to establish a firm direction of travel.

Indeed, the report suggests that the likelihood is that the season will be curtailed – but that the play-off competition will continue as normal. The Telegraph go on to state that the eight-team play-off competition remains an option, but that a number of teams feel that such an option would contravene a number of EFL regulations.

Any proposal will require a 51% majority (i.e. 12 clubs), meaning more than one vote could be required until a firm majority is established among the clubs.
