And French newspaper L’Equipe have put a similar timeline on completion of the deal – with a report in the print edition of their publication suggesting that Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus are targeting early December as a completion date on the transaction.

The L’Equipe report also offers an insight into Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus’ early plans for the Black Cats.

They include a Sporting Director, with the report suggesting that interviews have already taken place for the role and that four candidates – based in England and Scandinavia – have been shortlisted.

High-profile firm Executives in Sport are understood to have been appointed to lead the recruitment process.

Meanwhile, the report also suggests that the duo may not only be purchasing Sunderland.

It has previously been reported that Sartori was keen to purchase a club in his homeland of Uruguay, with his advisers holding discussions with a club earlier this year.

And L’Equipe suggest that Sartori – with new backing from Louis-Dreyfus – could now make that vision a reality with a bid for Uruguayan Primera Division side Club Atletico River Plate.
