A stunning Lynden Gooch capped a well-deserved 2-0 win for Sunderland away at Oxford United.

After a drab first half, Luke O’Nien fired Sunderland ahead within two minutes of the restart before Gooch added a fine solo effort to seal the three points, Sunderland securing their first win of the season following the opening day draw against Bristol Rovers.
