Grant Leadbitter has won the League One goal of the month award for his stunning strike against Doncaster Rovers.

Leadbitter won 62% of the public vote and his stunning long-range effort has been hailed for its ‘pure power and precision’.

Lead Sky Bet EFL Goal of the Month judge and Sky Sports Pundit Don Goodman said: “Despite the fact it was unable to inspire Sunderland to a win, Grant Leadbitter rolled back the years with a strike of pure power and precision that saw the ball dart into the top corner.

“Running onto an inviting lay-off, Leadbitter didn’t break stride as he drove the ball through a crowd of Doncaster defenders, with the ball still rising as it hit the net.”
