Sunderland Under-21s beat Bristol City Under-21s 1-0 to progress to the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup – but how did each player fare for the young Black Cats?
New signing Romaine Mundle started for the hosts at Eppleton CW, with Adil Aouchiche and Hemir both playing 90 minutes. It was Hemir who scored the winning goal in the 77th minute, converting from close range as he was set up by Aouchiche.
Here’s how each Sunderland player fared:

9. Adil Aouchiche - 8
Hit a few chances over the bar in the second half but provided moments of quality. Produced some excellent footwork before setting up Hemir for the winner. 8 Photo: Frank Reid

10. Romaine Mundle - 6
Operated on the left, looking to cut in onto his favoured right foot. Skewed an early effort wide before linking up well with Aouchiche on a couple of occasions. Was substituted just after the hour mark. 6 Photo: BRUNO FAHY

11. Hemir Semedo - 6
Was on the fringes of the game for large spells but was alert to convert Aouchiche’s cross in the second half. 6 Photo: Frank Reid

12. Harrison Jones - 6
(for Kelly, 45) Made a few good runs down the right after coming on at half-time. Saw an effort saved by the keeper after cutting in from the flank. 6 Photo: National World
