Sunderland have just eight league games remaining this season – with some members of their squad nearing the end of their contracts.
The Black Cats have managed to agree long-term deals with several players over the last year, but will have to make decisions regarding those nearing the end of their current contracts. Here’s a list of Sunderland’s senior players, including those out on loan, and when their deals are set to expire:
29. Pierre Ekwah - Summer of 2027
Ekwah signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Sunderland when he joined the club from West Ham United last year. The 22-year-old has been a regular starter for the Black Cats for most of this season. Photo: Frank Reid
30. Abdoullah Ba - Summer of 2027

31. Nectarios Triantis - Summer of 2027
Triantis joined Sunderland from Australian side Central Coast Mariners in June, signing a four-year contract at the Stadium of Light. The 20-year-old defender was then loaned out to SPL side Hibernian in January. Photo: Frank Reid
32. Nazariy Rusyn - Summer of 2027
Sunderland had been tracking the Ukrainian striker for some time, before reaching an agreement with Zorya Luhansk to sign the 25-year-old last year. Rusyn agreed a four-year contract at the Stadium of Light, with a club option of a further year. Photo: Frank Reid
