Sunderland have six league games remaining this season – while the club’s recruitment team will already be looking ahead to the summer transfer window.
The Black Cats have been linked with several players over the last year, some of whom could be available at the end of this season. Here are nine players who have reportedly been on Sunderland’s radar and may be looking to move on at the end of the campaign.
5. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace)
Palace opted not to loan out the 21-year-old winger for a second successive season, after Rak-Sakyi impressed at Charlton last term. Sunderland were one of the clubs said to be tracking the player's situation last summer, yet he's made just six Premier League appearances since then. Rak-Sakyi has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since February but looks set to return soon and could benefit from a move. Photo: GLYN KIRK
6. Lamare Bogarde (Aston Villa)
The Athletic reported in January that Sunderland were showing strong interest in Aston Villa midfielder Bogarde. The 20-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at League Two club Bristol Rovers. Photo: Nick Taylor/Liverpool FC
7. Skelly Alvero (Lyon)
French newspaper L’Equipe claimed Sunderland enquired about the 21-year-old midfielder in January, yet Alvero signed for German side Werder Bremen on loan from Lyon instead. Bremen have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of this season. Still, the Frenchman has only made one league start since his move to Germany. Photo: Stuart Franklin
8. Kieffer Moore (Bournemouth)
Sunderland were strongly linked with the Welsh international in January, before the striker joined Ipswich on loan from Bournemouth. Depending on which division Ipswich end up in next season, Moore may become available again, with a year left on his Bournemouth contract. Photo: Ryan Hiscott
