Lee Johnson was quizzed on Grigg’s future on Thursday, and admitted he was happy to see the striker remain at the Stadium of Light – but also wouldn’t stand in the way of an exit.
But only if Sunderland can sign a replacement.
The Shropshire Star report: “Town are understood to have agreed loan terms for the 29-year-old striker, including a percentage of his Stadium of Light wage, but Sunderland are yet to give the green light on the switch.

“That is while Lee Johnson’s side work on a move to bring a forward in to replace Grigg.”
It comes amid Football Insider reports that Sunderland have had a £120,000 bid for Ross County forward Ross Stewart rejected.
They claim the six-figure bid had been rejected with the Scottish side holding out for £500,000.
However, Johnson has already made it clear it would likely be loan deals only for Sunderland this month.

Robinson was keen on a move for the frontman last January, before then-manager Phil Parkinson decided to keep the striker on Wearside.
But with the door now seemingly open for Grigg to depart Wearside this month, Oxford are once again in the race.
Shrewsbury Town were seemingly the front-runners to seal a loan move for the Northern Ireland international, who hasn’t played since mid-December.
