Sunderland transfer news: £30m winger claim, Real Madrid link and £8m Frank Lampard interest
The latest Sunderland transfer news including a Feyenoord winger link and a Coventry City claim
Sunderland have been linked with a number of potential transfer developments over the past 48 hours as speculation continues around the club’s plans for the summer window.
Here is a round-up of the latest stories involving the Black Cats:
£30m winger link emerges
Sunderland are reportedly among the clubs interested in Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa. Reports in Europe have suggested the Black Cats are currently leading the race for the 24-year-old, who has impressed in the Eredivisie this season with a string of strong attacking performances.
The Algerian international has contributed 11 goals and six assists during the current campaign and his development has attracted attention from a number of clubs. Feyenoord are believed to value the winger at between €30million and €35million - roughly £25.9million to £30.2million. However, Sunderland would face competition for his signature with several Premier League clubs also credited with interest.
Real Madrid youngster linked
Meanwhile, a Spanish report has claimed Sunderland have made a move for a young Real Madrid midfielder. Spanish outlet Fichajes has suggested the Black Cats submitted a bid of around €15million - roughly £12.9million - for promising midfielder Thiago Pitarch.
The report claims Sunderland have been tracking the youngster’s progress and believe he fits their long-term strategy of signing young, high-potential players. However, the claim should be treated with caution. The same outlet previously reported that Sunderland were pursuing Real Madrid star Endrick and Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez last winter - moves that were never realistically on the cards.
£8m goalkeeper interest
Elsewhere, Coventry City could make a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson this summer. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Coventry boss Frank Lampard is exploring his goalkeeping options with Carl Rushworth expected to return to Brighton at the end of his loan spell.

Patterson has emerged as a potential replacement, with Coventry reportedly considering either a loan move or a permanent transfer worth around £8million. The Sunderland academy graduate is currently on loan at Millwall after finding his opportunities limited this season following the arrival of Robin Roefs. With the summer window approaching, Sunderland are expected to face a number of decisions around both potential arrivals and departures as the club continue to shape their squad.
