Sunderland trio touted for exits as Florent Ghisolfi linked with £21m Aston Villa transfer raid - round-up
A look at the latest Sunderland-related transfer news and speculation...
With the season over and the summer transfer window just around the corner, speculation surrounding Sunderland’s transfer plans has started to mount accordingly.
The Black Cats’ unexpected qualification for the Europa League is likely to bring with it all kinds of fanciful recruitment talk over the coming weeks and months, and to that end, online outlet TEAMtalk are kicking us off with some chatter about Tammy Abraham’s future at Aston Villa.
The striker only signed for Unai Emery’s men in January for a fee of around £21 million, but has been relatively limited in his first team opportunities ever since, and ended the campaign with a dozen Premier League outings to his name, 10 of which came from the bench.
As such, the prospect of a departure has been touted, and Sunderland - alongside Everton and Leeds United - are said to be monitoring his situation.
Anthony Patterson attracting Championship interest
Away from potential incomings, this summer could also see a number of players leave the Stadium of Light, with Anthony Patterson among those reportedly attracting attention.
According to Sky Sports News, the goalkeeper is a target for Wrexham, but is also on the radars of recently relegated Wolves and Millwall, where he spent the second half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan. For their part, Sunderland are said to be seeking between £8 million and £10 million to sanction his exit.

Milan Aleksic and Nazariy Rusyn touted for exits
Elsewhere, two players on the fringes of Sunderland’s first team plans are also being touted for possible departures. As per Mozzart Sport, young midfielder Milan Aleksic is set to sign for Partizan Belgrade in his native Serbia on a season-long loan, with the possibility of an option-to-buy clause still to be ironed out.
Meanwhile, Nazariy Rusyn is also said to be on his way out on Wearside, with continental journalist Igor Burbas stating that the Ukrainian forward will be joining Karpaty Lviv this summer. Given that the 27-year-old’s contract with Sunderland expires in 2027, it is more than likely that any departure in the near future would be a permanent arrangement. Rusyn has previously spent loan stints with Hajduk Split and Arka Gdynia.
