Sunderland fell to their second home defeat of the Championship campaign on Saturday afternoon.
Ben Cabango’s second-half goal from a set piece proved the difference in a game low on quality and clear chances. Here’s how we rated the Black Cats...

5. Alan Browne
Not at his best in possession early on and gave away one poor pass that O’Brien should have scored from. Steadied but couldn’t make the most of a couple of crossing opportunities in the second half. 5 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith

6. Dan Neil
Improved as the game went on but definitely not at his most precise or incisive on the ball, though one early pass for Isidor was wonderful (the striker scored from an offside position). Form has dipped a little and might need a break given how punishing his workload has been this season. 5 | Phil Smith

7. Chris Rigg
One or two nice passes in the first half that almost yielded a goal for Watson, and spurned one good opening inside the box when he passed instead of taking the shot on. A fairly quiet game before his withdrawal after Swansea’s opener. 5 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith

8. Harrison Jones
Handed his first league start. Struggled to impact the game initially but tidy enough on the ball as Sunderland found their feet a bit. Didn’t get much of a chance to show his ability in the final third before being withdrawn after Swansea’s opener. 5 | Phil Smith
