Sunderland faced Oxford United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Habib Diarra’s first-half penalty proved the difference between the two teams and secured progression for Regis Le Bris’s side, in what proved to be a professional display in tricky conditions. Here’s how we rated all the Black Cats involved on the day...
1. GK - Robin Roefs
Didn’t have too many saves to make and got through his work with minimal fuss. Oxford threatened from set plays but couldn’t really turn them into clear chances. 6 | AFP via Getty Images
2. RB - Trai Hume
Was given a pretty good test by Oxford’s full debutant Jinwoo Jeon. Stood up to the challenge in a solid outing. 6 | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
3. CB - Nordi Mukiele
A good, professional performance. Defended well and looked after the ball. 7 | Getty Images
4. CB - Luke O'Nien
One or two nervy moments in a real scrap with Spurs loanee Will Lankshear, but it was a contest he ultimately got the better of. Headed away a lot of long balls and set pieces. 7 | Getty Images
