Sunderland Ladies cancel friendly as a precaution after increase in reported Covid-19 cases

Sunderland Ladies have cancelled their friendly with Chester-Le-Street Ladies on Sunday at the Academy of Light.

The game has been called off as a precautionary measure following an increase in reported cases of Covid-19 in the area.

Posting on Twitter, the club said: “Due to an increase in the number of reported COVID-19 cases in the area, Sunderland AFC have made the decision to cancel tomorrow's friendly against @CLSTladies1 at the Academy Of Light as a precaution to ensure the safety of staff and players from both clubs.”
