Sunderland discover 2026/27 Premier League fixtures - see the key dates and list in full
Sunderland have been handed their fixtures for the 2026/27 campaign
Sunderland will begin their 2026/27 Premier League campaign at Portman Road.
The Black Cats will travel to face Ipswich Town on August 22nd, before welcoming Fulham to the Stadium of Light for the first home fixture of the campaign a week later. The opening-day clash has not been picked for TV coverage, so is confirmed as a Saturday 3pm kick-off. The next batch of TV picks are expected to be announced in mid-July.
Both sides are currently without a manager, with former Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna stepping down from his role to take a break from the game and spend more time with his family. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer currently leads the bookies’ odds, but no appointment has been made. Fulham were the only club to do the double over Sunderland last season, but have since seen Marco Silva depart to replace Jose Mourinho at Benfica. Alvaro Arbeloa is thought to be one of the leading candidates to take over.
The Black Cats will then face Brentford (A), Arsenal (H) and Manchester City (A) in a tough run of fixtures before an extended international break following September 19th.
Sunderland have been handed an away fixture on Boxing Day, when they will travel to face Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium before facing Manchester United away on December 30th. They will face Hull City at home on January 2nd.
The first derby of the campaign will take place at St James’ Park on December 5th, with Newcastle United then travelling to the Stadium of Light on May 1st. Sunderland finish their campaign at home to Manchester City, who are expected to soon announce the appointment of Enzo Maresca to replace Pep Guardiola. All games on final day will kick off at 4pm.
