Sunderland signed three new players during the January transfer window – yet some members of the first-team squad are into the final year of their contracts.
Callum Styles, Leo Hjelde and Romaine Mundle all arrived on Wearside last month, while other players were allowed to leave on permanent or loan deals. The Black Cats have also been able to agree new deals with several of their first-team players over the last year.
Here’s a list of Sunderland’s senior players, including those out on loan, and when their deals are set to expire:
29. Anthony Patterson - Summer of 2028

30. Jobe Bellingham - Long-term contract
The exact length of Bellingham's contract wasn't disclosed, with Sunderland announcing the 18-year-old had signed a 'long-term contract' when he joined the club from Birmingham last year. Photo: Frank Reid
