Marco Rose's classy Sunderland message after revealing unusual prep for Bournemouth win
Sunderland fell to a 2-0 defeat against Bournemouth on Thursday afternoon
Bournemouth boss Marco Rose revealed he watched the Sunderland 'Til I Die documentary on Netflix ahead of the club's clash with the Black Cats on Sunday afternoon.
Rose, who joined the club to replace Andoni Iraola in the summer, said it was a 'real joy' to see Sunderland's rise since their back-to-back relegations and that it showed anything is possible in football.
He told Sky Sports ahead of kick off: "I watched the documentary, it was a real joy to watch it because if you know the history of the club then it's good to see that they are now in the Premier League and playing European football.
"That's how it works in football, everything is possible always in life and this is a good example for it. It's a tough opponent and we have to be ready."
It proved to be a very significant afternoon for Rose and his side, who claimed their first win of the Premier League season to climb above Sunderland and out of the relegation zone. Though Sunderland were well short of their best and made bad errors to fall 2-0 behind and have Kevin Danso sent off for the denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity, Rose said the intensity of his side had been the key factor in the game.

Rose said: "We talked about it in the half-time that we stick to the plan, nothing changed, we stayed focus, we stay intense, we move them, we tried to find the game and to try and score the second goal. Everything today we forced with our intensity, even the red card. We were quite sharp in these kinds of moments and that's why we have a clean sheet, we scored two goals and we won the game.
"We were quite dominant, we were intense. I felt even in the locker room and yesterday in training that we wanted to force this win with everything we have. It's a mentality."
Bournemouth have like Sunderland won their first two Europa League fixtures and welcome AC Milan to the Vitality Stadium on Thursday night.
