Sunderland face their toughest test of the new season yet when they welcome Champions Arsenal to the Stadium of Light on Saturday night.
Both Régis Le Bris and Mikel Arteta have some key absentees - here’s the latest team and injury news from both camps as we currently have it...
1. Ben White - available
The defender came off in the latter stages of the 1-0 win over Napoli in the Champions League this week but Mikel Arteta has subsequently confirmed that there are no injury issues.
2. Habib Diarra - out
Diarra suffered a hamstring injury during a superb cameo against Fulham a fortnight ago. Le Bris confirmed on Thursday that he is around midway through his recovery, and so should be back in action next month and hopefully not too long after the international break.
3. Jurrien Timber - doubt
Timber has only played once since March but has been training in recent days and travelled to Naples in midweek. Arteta has said his return is close, though it could be in the Carabao Cup next week.
4. Cristhian Mosquera - doubt
The defender has missed the last couple of games but is now close to a return and could have some involvement here.
