Sunderland defeated Tranmere Rovers in the final of the Papa John’s Trophy on Sunday.

The result put to bed a near 48-year Wembley hoodoo as Lee Johnson’s men won by a single Lynden Gooch goal.

As usual, however, there is still plenty of transfer talk and general gossip swirling around the web.

The former Kilmarnock winger man has been told by Rangers that he can move on this summer.

And the 26-year-old, who signed on a temporary deal under Lee Johnson in the January transfer window, is attracting plenty of interest.

Jones has made an impact on Wearside in recent weeks, having scored and assisted in Sunderland’s 2-0 win against Portsmouth last week.

However, the attacker missed the Papa John’s Trophy final win against Tranmere Rovers with an injury.
