Sunderland AFC transfer round-up: West Bromwich Albion striker Rayhaan Tulloch linked amid interest from Newcastle United, Leeds and Aston Villa

Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson will be hoping to bolster his attacking options in January with West Brom striker Rayhaan Tulloch the latest name to be linked.

Parkinson is hoping to make up to five new signings in the new year as he looks to turn the club’s fortunes around after picking up just two wins from his opening 12 matches in charge.

Tulloch has impressed for the Baggies’ youth sides this season as he recently earned a call-up to their under-23 set-up.

The England under-18 international has made two FA Cup appearances for West Brom but is yet make his league debut as he looks set to be made available on loan in January.

Reports in the Daily Mail claim that several Premier League sides including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Southampton are monitoring the youngster’s progress in regard to a potential permanent deal. Leeds United, Stoke City and Wigan Athletic are also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s interest in bringing former Sunderland forward Fabio Borini back to England is thought to be hotting up as they look to strike a January deal.

Borini is into the final half-season of his contract at Italian giants AC Milan and hasn’t appeared for their first team since August.

However, hopes of linking up with former teammate Connor Wickham are unlikely as the striker looks set to leave Palace on loan in the new year.

Premier League strugglers Watford look to be Wickham’s most likely destination though several Championship sides remain interested.
