Friday, 14th May 2021, 3:06 pm

The game on Wearside will be played on Saturday, May 22, just three days after the first leg at the LNER Stadium.

It’s the first time supporters will be able to attend a game at the Stadium of Light since March 2020.

There has also been clarification regarding the EFL play-off finals after UEFA announced the Champions League final between Chlesea and Manchester City will be moved to Portugal rather than Wembley.

See you soon.

Tickets for Sunderland AFC’s League One Play-Off semi-final second leg against Lincoln have now sold out.

The club have announced that ‘tickets purchased in phase one (2020-21 season card holders) will be sent to supporters digitally on Friday 14 May and any tickets purchased in phase two (2021-22 season card holders) will be distributed digitally on Monday 17 May.’

500 appearances for Mignolet

Former Sunderland and Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has played the 500th game of his professional career.

The 33-year-old stopper currently plays for Belgian side Club Brugge and kept a clean sheet in a goalless draw against Royal Antwerp in his 500th match.

Mignolet told VoetbalKrant: “I am satisfied with a clean sheet, but not the approach of this match. As Club Brugge you always want to win.”

Trialist on Sunderland spell

Teenage forward Shane Temple has been on trial at Sunderland and has scored in successive under-18s games against Everton and Newcastle.

Temple, 18, plays for Isthmian League Division One North side AFC Sudbury and has been discussing his spell on Wearside.

The forward told Suffolk News: “In the second half Everton had a corner, it came up to me on the halfway line and I spun and took it through and hit it into the top corner from just inside the area.

“The ball came in from wide on the right and I just hit it on the volley and it went in.

“Scoring and also going to Newcastle and scoring, as a striker I could not have asked for any more really.”

Last time at Lincoln

Sunderland have announced that a limited number of tickets for their play-Off semi-final second leg against Lincoln City will go on sale to 2021-22 season card holders from 10am today (Friday).

Fans will be allocated seats on a first come, first served basis with no tickets available to purchase at the club’s ticket office or over the phone – all sales must be completed via the club’s online ticketing site.

Sunderland, Fleetwood Town, Plymouth and Aberdeen have all been linked with Rotherham defender Clark Robertson.

According to Football Insider, the 27-year-old Scot, who will be out of contract next month, has caught the eye of several Football League clubs.

Champions League final moved

UEFA have confirmed that the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City will now take place in Porto rather than Istanbul.

There was talk that the match could be moved to Wembley on May 29, therefore causing disruptions to the EFL play-off finals.

Yet that proposal hasn’t come to fruition, meaning the League One play-off final will still be played at Wembley on Sunday, May 30.

A reminder of ticket details

Sunderland AFC have confirmed plans to welcome up to 10,000 fans back to the Stadium of Light for the play-off semi-final with Lincoln City.

Tickets will be sold in phases, with the first seats available to be snapped up from 10am on Wednesday, May 12.

2020/21 season ticket holders will have first priority on tickets and will be able to purchase their seats up until 4pm on Thursday, May 13.

Should any tickets remain available, 2021/22 season ticket holders will then be able to buy tickets from 10am on Friday, May 14.

Fans will be allocated seats on a first come, first served basis with no tickets available to purchase at the club’s ticket office or over the phone – all sales must be completed via the club’s online ticketing site.

Tickets will be priced at £20 for adults and £10 for under-16s and over-65s after discussions with supporter working groups.

Close to 3,400 fans were already waiting for their opportunity to buy tickets as the clock struck 10:03 on Wednesday.
