Sunderland remain unbeaten in League One this season after a 2-0 win over Swindon on Saturday – a result which moved Phil Parkinson’s side upto fifth in the table.
After the end of the transfer window, the Black Cats are also exploring the free agent market for another centre-back after suffering several injury setbacks in that position.
Sunderland’s under-23 side were also in action earlier but had an afternoon to forget against Middlesbrough at the Academy of Light.
