Sunderland AFC player ratings: Who starred and who flopped in first half at Wembley?
It’s goalless at the break between Sunderland and Tranmere Rovers – here Mark Donnelly dishes out his player ratings.
Meanwhile, Sunderland have suffered another defensive injury blow, with Tom Flanagan subbed after picking up a knock in the Papa John’s Trophy final.
Flanagan needed to come off with a couple of minutes to go before half-time. The centre-back was getting treatment to his left leg, it appeared to be his calf.
Player ratings at half-time:
Lee Burge - Made a could of excellent clearances as Tranmere looked to find a way through, and did well to keep out Lloyd's deflected effort. 7
Max Power - Has got forward well but Tranmere are having a lot of joy on their left through the lively Lloyd and Feeney. 6
Tom Flanagan - A blow for Sunderland that the centre back had to come off after a solid if unspectacular opening. 6
Luke O'Nien - Has made a couple of timely interventions. 6
Callum McFadzean - Took a heavy knock but hasn't made much of an impact. 5
Josh Scowen - Yet to really get the side ticking and hasn't shown the legs required. 5
Grant Leadbitter - Steady away in the middle, as ever. 6
Lynden Gooch - One good ball through to Maguire but little impact otherwise. 5
Chris Maguire - Has had Sunderland's best chances but yet to produce any moments of real quality. 6
Aiden McGeady - Has found himself in some good areas but not at his best so far. 6
Charlie Wyke - Well marshalled by Tranmere's central defenders and yet to threaten. 5
